Description
Zoroastrians in Iran have had a long history, being the oldest religious community of that nation to survive to the present-day. Prophet Zoroaster and his first followers are believed to have been the proto-Indo-Iranians that lived between the Stone Age and Bronze Age (est. 1400-1200BC). The proto-Indo-Iranians (Aryans) were later divided in to two distinct branches of Iranian and Indians; the Iranian branch migrated to Iran as early as 2000 BC.
Vacation tour itinerary
Day 1, TEHRAN:
Late arrival, reception at the airport and transport to hotel. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 2, TEHRAN:
Visiting the National Museum, sightseeing, getting a feel for the predominant culture and religion in present Iran.
Day 3, TEHRAN:
Visit to Shar-e-Ray one of oldest cities in the world (Tape-ye-Mill). In the afternoon visiting Zoroastrian Temple and get together at the Zoroastrians Center in Tehran. Overnight Tehran.
Day 4, SHIRAZ:
Fly to Shiraz and visit Persepolis. Overnight Shiraz.
Day 5, SHIRAZ:
Tour of Shiraz. evening get together at the Zoroastrian center in Shiraz. Overnight Shiraz.
Day 6, KERMAN:
Drive to Kerman, en-route visit Sassanian Palace at Sarvestan. In the evening get together at the Zoroastrian Center or an alternative setting in Kerman. Overnight Kerman.
Day 7, YAZD:
Tour of old Zoroastrian neighborhood (Nasereyeh) in Kerman. Drive to Yazd and visiting the Temple. Overnight Yazd.
Day 8, YAZD:
Visiting Chak Chak (Pir Sabz). In the evening get together at the Zoroastrian Center or an alternative setting in Yazd. Overnight Yazd.
Day 9, ESFAHAN:
Drive to Isfahan and visit Pir Banoo Temple on the way. Sightseeing in Isfahan. Overnight Isfahan.
Day 10, ESFAHAN:
Sightseeing in Isfahan, a short drive to Najaf Abad to visit Atashgah, Overnight Isfahan.
Day 11, TEHRAN:
Fly to Tehran. Lunch at Darband. Hike or rest by the river, evening farewell reception at the Zoroastrian Center or an alternative setting. Late night Departure.
Day 12, TEHRAN:
Tranfer to airport. |
